God of the Desert Prayer

If we are in the desert anyway,
We might s well  sit and pause and pray.
If we are parched and thirsty anyhow,
We might as well, lower our heads and bow.
If we are going through a storm as a matter of fact,
We might as well, pray before we act.
If we are needy, sick, tired and worn,
We'd do well to pray and wait and see what might be born.
We need no church, no pew, nor pastoral place
When any place can be God's throne of grace.
It's in the moment that we find the place of meeting,
Cathedral of love, God's heart beating.
